You will not believe this, but we received this message on our website about one of the songs we produced "fu** off with your sh*** ad. You suck, sons of bi**!" (I am just quoting. I hope you're shocked).
But we also received this message: "Your campaign is a MASTERPIECE. I sing it all the time! " So who’s right? Both of them! Because our songs stick to your mind, but in a friendly way! And what’s great about a song, is that you can actually put it in the heart of your brand and use it for everything (video, radio, events, cinema and even mobile ringtone!).
We wanted to celebrate those musical ads that we love to hate so we made a selection of the top 10, but also the 10 worst jingles and songs in the history of Advertising. Enjoy!
First of all, let’s start with 3 songs that we created with singer songwriter, Queen Clairie, which music you can discover here
→ SELECTRA
A pop song for Selectra, by Left Productions, that people with Adblock will never have the pleasure of listening! ;)
→ CITYA
Forget about forgetting this song! for Citya, by Left Productions!
→ HAMAC
Hamac decided to talk about his washable diaper with a song worthy of Walt Disney pictures' films, by Left Productions.
And here are some others’ ads with music:
→ 4. MCDONALDS
Justin Timberlake singing “I’m Lovin’ It” for McDonald's. Just great.
→ 5. GREEN GIANT
HO HO HO… Not Santa, but a gigantic man painted in green you already know about, thanks to this jingle.
→ 6. SUBWAY → Five Dollars Foot Long
It is not really $5 anymore, but the size hasn’t changed. And we have to recognize this campaign and its jingle was brilliant!
→ 7. OREO
We love it!
→ 8. CHEERIOS
The best jazzy beat of the lot.
→ 9. Education Connection
Miley Cyrus probably could have created this jingle.
→ 10. PEPSI
Michael Jackson teamed up with Pepsi for this one.
→ 1. MEOW MEOW MEOW
There’s no way you can play this ad until the end.
→ 2. TOYOTA MPG I WANT MY MPG
Just agressive!
→ 3. State Farm
Singing out of tune, the best.
→ 4. Kit Kat - Give Me A Break (1988)
Nostalgia
→ 5. J.G WENTWORTH
The problem here is that the product is really a terrible one! And there's a Viking in a bus singing an opera tune.
→ 6. OSCAR MAYER
This kid is NOT cute! Especially the 10th times you hear his song.
→ 7. JUICY FRUIT
Country style.
→ 8. BAND-AID
Same this as number 6: kids...
→ 9. TOYS ‘R US
The kid says "One More Time". You just want to stop it.
→ 10. NAPA KNOW HOW
Euh, what?
And if you need to relax after all this, here's a 5 minutes-long remix of 35 music ads. You definitely know these brands and their sound signatures! ;)
And you, what are your favorite advertising jingles? Those that remain on your mind all day? On the contrary, which ones make you flee your screens and somehow terrorize you?
See you soon!
